XTF / Foundation & Incubator

One program within XTF

XTF Competition

A focused program through which the Foundation can invite young people to investigate a shared technology question, make their method visible and identify a responsible next path. The competition is not the Foundation itself.

Program status: no public call is currently listed. Dates, eligibility, themes, submission requirements, review criteria, support and participation terms for the next cycle remain subject to formal confirmation and will be published together before any submission is invited.

A bounded invitation inside a longer Foundation pathway.

One program. A wider purpose.

XTF exists to help young researchers and builders move meaningful questions toward context, evidence, prototypes and public value. A competition can create a clear moment to explore and review work, but it does not define the institution or determine where every project ends.

When a cycle is confirmed, its brief will explain the specific question, who the program is for, what participation involves and how decisions are made. Outside that cycle, the Foundation’s wider work continues through incubation, mentorship, resources, documentation and responsible routes forward.

01 / Before a cycle opens

Details before commitment.

A future cycle becomes active only when its complete public brief is confirmed. This page will not substitute estimates, past assumptions or promotional claims for settled program information.

One clear state

Opening, submission, review and completion dates, together with the time zone and update source.

Eligibility

Who it is for

Age, geography, project stage, individual or team requirements and any participation limits.

Question & theme

What to investigate

The confirmed brief, its context, intended scope and the kinds of response the cycle can responsibly support.

Expected materials, format, workload, communication, available support and participant responsibilities.

Review

How decisions work

Criteria, stages, decision roles, feedback expectations and the process for managing conflicts.

Intellectual property, publication, privacy, consent, data handling, accessibility and safeguarding.

02 / Competition journey

Explore → Prepare → Submit → Review → Continue.

This is the intended participation structure for a confirmed cycle. It is not an invitation to submit now, and the published cycle brief will always take precedence.

01

Explore

Read the complete brief, eligibility, dates, expectations and terms. Decide whether the question and program are genuinely relevant to the work.

02

Prepare

Study the context, review existing work, define a method and gather only the evidence needed for a proportionate next step.

03

Submit

Use the official route only when a call is open. Provide the required project record, declarations, permissions and supporting material.

04

Review

Work is considered against the published criteria and at the stage it has actually reached. A polished claim cannot replace a visible method.

05

Continue

Record what was learned and choose the next responsible route. A competition decision is one program outcome—not the final measure of a question’s value.

03 / Foundation method

The method matters beyond the event.

Every confirmed competition brief sits inside XTF’s wider working method. The aim is to make learning, evidence and decisions understandable—not to reward presentation without substance.

05 / Competition FAQ

Confirmed information only.

Until a complete call is published, this page explains the program’s role and method—not a live application opportunity.

01

Is a cycle open now?

No public XTF Competition call is currently listed. A confirmed opening will state the full dates, eligibility, brief, selection process and terms on this page.

02

Who will be eligible?

Eligibility for the next cycle has not been formally confirmed. Do not rely on requirements from an earlier version or an unofficial source.

03

What happens after review?

The confirmed cycle will explain its decisions, feedback and any next-stage support. No general promise of funding, incubation or recognition is made in advance.

A competition can begin a question. The Foundation helps it continue.
