Support should match the stage of the work.
XTF is designed to help young people turn a meaningful question into a stronger method, a useful test and an honest decision about what should happen next.
The purpose of support is not to make unfinished work look finished.
Build the conditions for serious inquiry.
Early ideas need different things at different moments. One team may need to understand the problem before building. Another may need technical critique, access to a testing context or help separating a promising observation from a claim the evidence cannot yet support.
XTF therefore begins with the work itself: the question, the people affected, the current evidence, the uncertainty and the next decision. A confirmed program may combine guidance, resources, access and financial support, but only the elements stated in that program’s published terms are commitments.
Support is matched to the work and its stage, with the role, boundary and decision path of each module made visible before participation begins.

02 / Forms of support
A confirmed program can combine four forms of support.
The mix depends on the program, participants and stage. XTF does not present a possible benefit as a confirmed offer.
Tools for stronger work
A program may provide research frameworks, review formats, documentation tools, technical resources or access to appropriate facilities. Availability and permitted use are stated for each cycle.
Connections with a purpose
Introductions may support expert review, testing, learning or a responsible next path. No institution or individual is described as a partner, mentor or network member without a confirmed role and permission.
Financial support with clear terms
If a program includes funding, the amount, eligible use, payment route, conditions, rights and reporting expectations must be published before an applicant commits. No general funding promise is made here.

Define the question
Describe the situation, the people affected, existing responses and the assumption the project needs to examine.
Learn before claiming
Review sources, observe the context and decide what evidence would strengthen, narrow or challenge the initial direction.
Build to learn
Create the smallest appropriate experiment or prototype that can expose a meaningful technical, human or ethical uncertainty.
Invite useful criticism
Make reasoning visible to reviewers who can question the method, identify risks and help define a better next test.
Record what changed
Separate observation from interpretation, state limitations and preserve the decisions that shaped the work.
Choose a responsible route
Decide whether the work needs deeper inquiry, another prototype, collaboration, deployment preparation or an informed stop.
04 / Before a call opens
Every opportunity must explain what it asks and what it offers.
A public description is not enough. The operational terms must be visible before people share work or personal information.
Who the route is for
Age, geography, team format, project stage, field and any exclusions should be stated without relying on assumptions.
What happens when
Opening, closing, review, notification and participation periods should be published only after they are confirmed.
What is actually included
Mentoring, resources, access, facilities or financial support must be described at their confirmed level.
How decisions are made
Criteria, decision roles, conflicts handling and communication of outcomes should be understandable in advance.
What participation changes
Privacy, safeguarding, publication, intellectual-property, image and data terms should be appropriate to the people involved.
What is open now
Open, upcoming, closed and archived states should be explicit so an old page cannot be mistaken for a current opportunity.

Understand the route before committing.
Only the terms on a confirmed program page define an XTF offer.
Does every participant receive the same support?
No general package is promised. A confirmed program explains the support available, how it is allocated and any conditions attached to it.
Can I apply for funding now?
No public XTF application or funding cycle is currently listed. XTF will publish financial support only with its mechanism, amount, use and terms confirmed.
Is mentorship guaranteed?
No. Mentorship is included only when a program confirms the role, available expertise, matching process, responsibilities and participant protections.
Can XTF introduce my project to an institution?
A relevant introduction may form part of a confirmed route, but it is never automatic and does not imply endorsement, partnership or future support.
What happens if an idea should not continue?
A responsible stop can be a valuable outcome. Good incubation records why the evidence changed the direction and what others can learn from that decision.
